Students will earn their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification through practical application in their job or in a network of local companies in the area.

DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) as a data-driven technique for assessing and optimizing business processes and designs

Statistical analysis to improve process quality and root cause corrective actions to discover the source of any process error

Value stream mapping to locate process waste and gaps

Six Sigma project management strategies including cost and resource analysis to ensure the highest quality results for the business

Attendance: 1 evening class per week: Wednesdays from 6pm-9pm (Thanksgiving week off)

The Certificate in Lean Six Sigma Management is comprised of two courses:

Fall Quarter 2017: Lean Six Sigma I (10 weeks)
Winter Quarter 2018: Lean Six Sigma II (10 weeks)

The course is structured to build competency areas (Six Sigma Tools, Process Maps, Quality Measurements, Data Analysis, Working with Stakeholders, Group/Team dynamics, and Presentation). Course work will be taught through:

  • Lectures and Guest Lectures
  • Individual & Group Activities
  • Exercises
  • Demonstrations
  • Readings
